Multi-vehicle truck accident kills Californian motorcyclist

Motorcycles are not a match to stand up to a passenger car in an accident. When a motorcycle is involved in a truck accident, however, the outcome has the potential to be even more treacherous. The disparity in size between a big rig and a motorcycle will easily allow the semi to crush the motorcycle and its passenger under certain conditions, and the outcome can often be fatal. In a very unfortunate occurrence of events recently in California, a motorcyclist was killed in this very type of situation.

A 29-year-old man was driving his motorcycle early on a Wednesday morning. Another motorcycle rear-ended the man, which caused him to be hit by a car and flown from his motorcycle. A semi then ran over him.

This multi-vehicle accident had a very unfortunate and tragic outcome. Not all of the details are known, and it is possible that the accident is still under investigation. in any accident involving a semi, however, it is important that the injured individual, or in this case, the deceased's family, seek the assistance of an experienced personal injury attorney.

Accidents that involve semis can become very complicated very quickly. Due to the nature of the vehicles and often times the hazardous nature of the loads that they carry, truckers and their employers are held to a higher standard of care. These standards are set by federal trucking regulations.

Truck companies are very aware of these regulations and how they can impact their drivers and their businesses after the occurrence of an accident. Therefore, trucking companies involved in accidents such as this are always very quick to contact insurance companies, attorneys and investigators. They begin building their case immediately upon being notified of the accident.

These companies and their insurance representatives and attorneys can become very overwhelming to the injured party or the family of the deceased. But an experienced attorney will take on the workload of handling communications with the opposing party and building a case to ensure that those injured or their family members receive the compensation to which they are entitled for their post-accident suffering.
