Truck becomes airborne, causes car crash in California

Car accidents may be a common occurrence on the streets of California. However, that does not mean that the aftermath becomes any easier to deal with for those residents and family members who are adversely affected by each and every one of the state’s collisions.

Although a car crash is always an unfortunate occurrence, some have a more drastic and catastrophic impact than others. For example, an accident that recently occurred in California had fatal consequences for one individual and resulted in injuries for at least three others. In addition, the way in which this car accident occurred was a bit alarming and unusual.

According to accident reports, at around 4:00 p.m., a Ford F-150 was traveling down a California road when the driver crossed into the lane of oncoming traffic in an attempt to pass vehicles that were backed up and stopped at a traffic light. The driver unsuccessfully tried to veer back into his own lane. Unfortunately, he was driving too fast and instead of successfully reentering his lane, his vehicle became airborne and crashed into the vehicles waiting on the other side of the intersection.

This initial incident caused a chain-reaction car accident that involved a total of eight vehicles. The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man, died from injuries sustained in the accident and at least three other individuals were injured. Authorities are unsure at this time what caused the man’s vehicle to become airborne, but are hoping more answers will be revealed at the conclusion of the accident investigation.

It is important for residents of California to understand that they may be entitled to compensation if they are injured in a car accident due to the actions of a negligent driver. These accidents often result in extensive medical expenses and a recovery through a personal injury lawsuit may help an injured party cover some or all of these expenses.
