According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a death occurs every 12 to 15 minutes due to a crash involving an SUV, motorcycle or truck. The roadways of Los Angeles can, at times, be very dangerous, and some of these fatal accidents occur right here in California. One particular accident that occurred on December 27 left a motorcyclist dead.
The motorcycle accident involved hit-and-run driver. At first police reported that they believed there was a sedan involved and that the driver fled the scene of the accident. However, police later said once they were at the scene of the accident that it appeared to be a tragic accident and that they were questioning a driver. According to the Los Angeles Police Department the collision occurred shortly after 6:00 in the evening.
If a resident of Los Angeles or another area of California has been injured in a motorcycle accident and has suffered catastrophic injuries or injuries of another nature that have led to medical bills and other unexpected expenses, it may be helpful to speak with a personal injury attorney. In some cases where a negligent driver caused an accident that resulted in injuries, recovery may be available.
A personal injury attorney will fight aggressively to not only obtain compensation for the injury victim but to maximize recovery. There are many parties that must be dealt with after an accident including insurance companies, the other party’s legal representation and potentially more. This can make the situation very confusing and emotionally draining. However, an attorney can help to relieve some of this stress and make the situation more manageable for the injured party.
