Relatively speaking, police chases aren’t that uncommon in the Southern California area, which is one of the most populous places in the country. But, when such a police chase ends in a collision that leads to significant property damage and injuries, that is another matter altogether.
That is what occurred in a recent incident, in which a suspect in a stolen vehicle led police on a chase through San Fernando Valley during the morning hours on April 3. The suspect was in a stolen pickup truck when the vehicle slammed into multiple vehicles, causing a chain reaction accident that left multiple people with injuries.
In all, five vehicles were damaged in the collision. Some of the injured individuals involved were in the stolen pickup truck, while others were in the other four vehicles involved.
Fortunately, the criminal suspect was arrested on the scene. The reports involve witness statements about some of the vehicles flipping over in the collision, while debris was reportedly scattered across a large area of the roadway. As the suspect was driving his vehicle away from police officers who were in pursuit, he was speeding, which obviously added to the danger of the situation.
The injured victims in this incident are likely focused on their physical recovery, but they may have options to pursue financial compensation as well. Any time a person is injured in a car collision that was caused by another person’s negligence or recklessness, the victims may have legal options to pursue. Any compensation recovered could be used to cover medical expenses, among other costs.
