In the vast majority of instances involving individuals riding a bus, whether it is children headed to school or people riding on public transportation, those passengers are entrusting their safety to the driver of that vehicle. Unfortunately, the bus driver can only do so much to keep their passengers safe when there are other negligent drivers traveling on the same Los Angeles roads.
A recent car accident involving a bus and a passenger vehicle left three individuals injured. The accident occurred shortly before noon when the passenger vehicle allegedly ran a red light and crashed into the bus. This initial collision caused the bus to crash into a power line pole. Three individuals had to be treated for injuries caused by the accident. Thankfully, no one on the bus suffered serious injuries.
Even though none of the injuries were serious, because the passengers had to be treated by medical professionals they will still have medical expenses as a result of the accident. If the accident investigation determines that there was a negligent driver involved in this accident, then those that were injured may be able to recover compensation from that driver by filing a personal injury claim against them.
Drivers are considered negligent when they do not exercise the required standard of care while operating their vehicle. This may occur for any number of reasons including texting, speeding, fatigue, consumption of alcohol and much more. Those individuals that are attempting to recover compensation from this negligent party may be awarded enough money to cover their medical expenses as well as any other unexpected financial obligations that arise as a result of the injury caused by the accident.
