When a passenger vehicle collides with another vehicle it may or may not result in injuries to the parties involved in the accident. Whether injuries result depends upon the nature of the car crash. However, when a passenger vehicle collides with pedestrians that are walking along the same streets where the cars are traveling, the results can be catastrophic and, at times, deadly.
An accident that recently occurred in California involved a passenger vehicle and two teenage pedestrians. The accident occurred shortly after 7:30 PM. The boys were walking when they were struck by a moving vehicle. Both boys were taken to a nearby hospital. One of them is in serious condition and the other is in fair condition. The identity of the driver was not released and it is unknown whether any charges have been filed or if any lawsuits will result.
When accidents like this one occur, it is often due to the negligence of one or more involved parties. This accident is still under investigation and it is unknown whether anyone that was involved was acting negligently when the accident occurred. However, if it is determined that the driver’s lack of care led to the resulting accident that driver may be liable to the injured parties.
If that is the case, the boys and their families may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit against the negligent driver. They would be able to attempt to recover compensation for expenses that arose as a result of the injuries the boys sustained in the accident. The main item for which they would likely be able to recover is medical expenses.
When an individual or their loved one has become injured in a car accident, it can be an emotionally and financially stressful situation. Luckily, there are personal injury lawyers in Los Angeles that can help to make this situation less stressful and also assist the injured parties in recovering the compensation to which they are entitled.
