Los Angeles-area truck accident results in injuries and death

On Behalf of | May 18, 2017 | Truck Accidents

Motorists frequently share the roads with large trucks. While this is the norm in society today, drivers still have their concerns regarding their safety and the risks these massive vehicles could pose. Truck accidents result in extensive harm to victims, which is why legal options are available to help them.

According to recent reports, a semi-truck supposedly crossed the center divider just north of Los Angeles, causing a fiery truck accident. The truck crossed over into oncoming traffic, resulting in a 18-wheeler accident that killed one person and injured 10 others. Those injured ranged in age from 22 to 71 and a 27-year-old woman was critically injured. The truck claimed the life of one man and involved 8 vehicles. Included in the truck accident were three passenger vehicles, one passenger van, a black truck and three big rigs.

Truck accidents can result in traumatic harm and injuries to victims. Victims may be left picking up the pieces from the unexpected loss of a loved one or from the unexpected impact of debilitating injuries. Different legal options are available to victims in different situations to help them with the same goal of ensuring they receive compensation for the costs and losses associated with a truck accident. Both wrongful death and personal injury legal options are available to victims harmed and impacted by a truck accident.

Wrongful death and personal injury legal options help victims of truck accidents with the physical, financial and emotional damages associated with a truck accident. When a negligent truck driver has caused a truck accident that results in harm to victims, victims may be able to recover compensation for medical expenses, lost earnings, pain and suffering damages and wrongful death damages. In California, victims can recover compensation for damages up to the full amount of the harm they have suffered even if they were also negligent. Their damages may be reduced according to their own liability, but the process ensures they are protected.
